A modification to the Marine Corps policy regarding reenlistment bonuses, it could mean more money for Marines. Lance Corporal Ashley Bryant says those who can speak a different language have a good chance of getting more money in their paycheck.

(voice insert)

Marines previously excluded from a language skill selective reenlistment bonus, due to the Military Occupational Specialty, may now be eligible to receive an SRB multiple of five.

Before the change, Marines not in the linguist MOS were not eligible for this bonus. Now those Marines with defense language proficiency test score of 22 or higher in select languages and dialects may rate this higher bonus.

If a Marine has met these requirements and has already been enlisted during the 2005 fiscal year, they are authorized difference between their bonus and the language skill SRB. Marines receiving the language skill SRB will be expected to deploy as a linguist for a minimum of one hundred seventy nine days during the first two years of their enlistment contract.

Some news making headlines in Japan.

The entire national archive is going digital so you can see what hasn't been readily available in years.

According to the Daily Yomiuri, the National Archive in Tokyo will take about one point eight million photographs of historical government documents, important cultural properties, and other properties accessible through its web site at the start of next month.

You can search over nine hundred sixty thousand documents on the web site.
To make sure the web site works, they put trial images on the web. Like a collection of maps of old provinces in Japan during the Edo period and maps that show the bombing damage to main cities just after the end of World War Two.

The archives plan to increase the number of images offered every year and plans to make all government documents it owns available over the Internet.

And that's your Eagle 810 News. I'm Army Sergeant Vanessa Dempsey.
