危ないモリー（Molly the Menace）

実はこのネタはリスニングのメルマガの聞き取り用題材にしようと思っていたのだが、Car Talk サイトのリスニング音声は、毎週更新され、古いものは有料になってしまうことをうっかりしていたため、無料では聴けなくなってしまったのである。

それで、かなり落ち込んでしまったのだが、せっかくリスニングのためにディクテーションを行っていたので、以下にその部分だけを公開しておくことにした。　

この英会話のスクリプト、読むだけだとあまりオモシロくないんだけど、聞いていた時（ラジオとメルマガ用のディクテーション準備）は相当に可笑しかった。

Molly: Hi guys! This is Molly. I'm calling from Washington, DC.

T&R: What's going on, Molly?

Molly: Well, I just had my tenth car accident.

T&R: Tenth!

Molly: Yeah.

T&R: Tenth, in what period of time?
How old are you?

Molly: Uhm... I've been driving about half of my life.

T&R: HOW OLD ARE YOU?

Molly: Uhm... I'm thirty-one.

T&R: And you've had TEN accidents in ... half of your life... in fifteen and half years.
That's (happens か possible?). That's one accident in a year and a half.
A ha ha ha ha !

Molly: I'm an achiever. .... I know ... I knew it ... was coming.

T&R: ... so what kind of accidents have you had?

Molly: Um... Some are on my fault, but a lot aren't.

T&R: I .... doubt it!
A Ha ha ha ha ha !

Molly: Well, the number ...

T&R: Well, give us ... Better than that..., give us like ... the last four.
you have the last four, yeah.

Molly: Well, this last one, I drove into the spare tire holder of an SUV in front of me.

T&R: Okay... That was clearly your fault.

Molly: That was my fault.

T&R: Was, wa... was the vehicle in front of you moving as well?

Molly: No, they had stopped.

T&R: That's a problem. (ha ha ha ha...)

Molly: Yeah..

T&R: Okay... I got that.

Molly: That's SUV.

T&R: Okay... how about the last, the previous one?

Molly: The one before that... uhm... I merged poorly and drove into the back of a pickup truck.

T&R: Okay... That was your fault, too?

Molly: Yeah..

ちなみに、上で紹介した Car Talk のページでは、この後の英会話をサンプルで少しだけ聞くことができるのだが、その辺りまではディクテーションをしなかったのでご勘弁を。（あと、一つ不明な箇所があるので・・・）

（サンプルでは、どんな車種だったのか、これまでに何台買ったのか、などと話していて、この部分もかなりオカシイんだけどね。）
